Okay as the beta’s have gone by one question that I keep hearing is, I updated and I lost my connection to the internet what is wrong? Okay the first thing you want to do is go to System/MEPIS/Mephis Network Assistant and after entering the root password, make sure that you have the option Auto marked there is a manual option that is the default for those that run static IP’s and need to enter all the info by hand. then close it down and restart. See simple fast and easy and poof you are back on the internet. Hope this helps those that have been asking and those that were about to.

Canadian Firm Promises Computer Based on Quantum Physics, Many Times Faster Than World’s Best
Feb. 12, 2007 — “Quantum Computing.” It’s one of those things that bring a sparkle to the eyes of propellerheads — and make the rest of us just scratch our heads.
But it’s been a holy grail in the arcane world of supercomputers — and a Canadian firm claims it will be unveiling one on Tuesday. Nevermind that most engineers thought quantum computers were decades away.

The favorite homepage of the forward-thinking web crowd is about to get a major upgrade.
Later this month, Paris-based Netvibes will debut several enhancements to its personalized start page service.
The company will introduce a web-based RSS news reader, a module that can run advanced searches on specific sites and a new sharing feature that lets users distribute personalized content on their homepages to their friends.
Netvibes is one of a handful of websites offering a new kind of personalized homepage. A far cry from the portal-driven offerings of yesteryear from Excite and AltaVista, startups such as Netvibes, Pageflakes and Protopage deliver slick, colorful homepages that use Web 2.0 technologies and offer drag-and-drop personalization of the page layout.
Ajax-powered personalized start pages are one of the fastest growing sectors of the web. Offerings from the bigger names like Yahoo’s MyYahoo, Google’s Personalized Homepage and Microsoft’s Live.com are all examples of the current momentum in the Web 2.0 start page
marketplace.
I have a friend that uses this and she swears by it take a look if you are looking for a one stop starting page to use.

In this article we are going to discuss how to create a PHP-based RSS reader. It would be helpful if you know something about XML, but not really necessary. RSS documents have three main tags: Title, Link and Description. And they all do exactly what their names suggest. I will go into detail about these tags in my second article dealing with building an RSS file. For now, we will only focus on the reading part of the article.
