Quick custom text ad placement in WordPress blog categories

WordPress plugins abound for Google AdSense and other third-party text ad brokers, but what happens when someone wants to buy ad space directly from you, on a specific category page in your blog? You can easily add static HTML text ads to your category search result pages by creating category-specific page templates.

This trick works for items other than ad’s too,Baldy

Torvalds tells Microsoft to put up or shut up

Torvalds, the leader of the project to create the Linux kernel, was contemptuous of Microsoft’s claims and has asked Redmond to name the infringements so that their veracity can be challenged and workarounds found.

Sic em Linus, if any one knows what is in Linux this gentleman will. Baldy

$139 PC comes with Linux preinstalled

MadTux and Vector Linux today announced a Linux PC for the rock-bottom price of $139. The “Vector Linux Affordable Performance PC” comes with a 1.5GHz processor, 256MB RAM, 13.5GB hard drive, graphics and networking interfaces, and preinstalled Vector Linux, but requires a user-supplied monitor and keyboard.

Hey I want to see one of these little rascals, it sounds like a super starter box for a new Linux user, Baldy

Linux-powered OLPC on “60 Minutes” May 20

CBS TV’s “60 Minutes” will feature the Linux-powered OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) device on Sunday, May 20 at 7 p.m. EDT/PDT. Project director Nicholas Negroponte will talk about his dream of putting a laptop computer into the hands of every child as an educational aid.

CBS correspondent Lesley Stahl will report on the project’s progress in such countries as Cambodia and Brazil. Stahl discusses her upcoming report in a Reporter’s Notebook” webcast now available on the 60 Minutes site.
