Distro developers and development teams are struggling greatly just to find the funding to purchase video cards and cheap scanners so they can test and build drivers for them. I can name three good distros that are on the brink of folding due to lack of money. Meanwhile, Microsoft is raking Linux money in with both hands like some rube on a winning streak at a gambling table.

The flareup over Dell’s lack of warranty for their Ubuntu-equipped laptops reported by Slashdot this morning turns out to have been caused by a Web site malfunction rather than being a change in policy.

A security researcher has found a remote vulnerability in the upgrade mechanism in the Firefox extension used by Google Toolbar and Google Browser Sync that could lead to a man-in-the-middle attack and covert installation of malicious software.
