Wine-doors 0.1 aka Vinegar Finger released

I am proud to announce that after just over a year, 809 changes, and before LUG Radio Live wine-doors 0.1 has been branched in SVN, A tarball is available from the downloads page. Wine-doors is an application designed to make installing windows software on Linux, Solaris or other Unix systems easier. It is essentially a package management tool for windows software on Linux systems.

Kicking Around Open Source, Part 1: Blog Hot Spots

Sure, you can walk into any big-box bookstore and see several shelves full of volumes about open source software. Likewise, the Web sites of Linux-related companies and organizations are chock-full of white papers and articles analyzing one or another’s position on open source hot topics. However, the real action for discussion of open source topics occurs in real time among ordinary people unconstrained by the limits of print publishers or Web site approval processes.
