Worried companies block Facebook

Social network site causing security/time-wasting problems in the office
The security backlash against Facebook has taken a new twist with a survey finding that large numbers of employees are now being blocked from accessing it.
I don’t know why companies think their workers logging in to facebook would cause time wasting. It’s not like it’s incredibly addicting or anything…..

Some companies block Facebook because it’s considered an entertainment site, security hazard, or something not work-related. Other companies consider Facebook an essential part of marketing– to network with others.
This software program Time Doctor is better than blocking Facebook as it only monitors Facebook on work hours. So team members can use Facebook during lunch breaks. Also some people need to use Facebook for work purposes so it’s silly to just block it.

Whether an application is blocked or not, self-control comes from within
Ive been using http://bit.ly/bJwmma .
It uses a better method than blocking social media sites because it only monitors sites like Facebook during production hours. People/Employees still have the option to use it for a breather or during breaks really . Sometimes they use it for work too in helping reach decisions. For me its really unnecessary to block Facebook.
