The attacks on New York and Washington stun the world. In the aftermath, technology musters to launch a war on terror.
Take a minute out of your day and stop and think about those innocent people that died that day and also the ones that are still suffering today thanks to radical morons, Baldy

VOIP service Skype is warning users about a Windows worm that spreads through the Skype’s chat service, posing as a legitimate chat message.
Darn does it seem all the worms and stuff just love to feed on Windows or is it just me? And the bad thing is that in order for it to spread so fast and infect so many folks, I begin to worry about the common sense level of windows users more and more every day,Baldy

javipas writes “An insightful article at Jeff Atwood’s Coding Horror reveals the power inside Ophcrack, an Open Source program that is capable of discovering virtually any password in Windows operating systems. The article explains how passwords get stored on Windows using hash functions, and how Ophcrack can generate immense tables of words and letter combinations that are compared to the password we want to obtain. The program is available in Windows, Mac OS and Linux, but be careful: the generated tables that Ophcrack uses are really big, and you should allow up to 15 Gbytes to store these tables.”

Unless you use an Apple Mac — or you’re a particularly dedicated geek — your computer almost certainly runs a version of Microsoft Windows. There’s little choice in the matter; almost all consumer PCs come with Windows already installed. Can you be bothered to change that? However, now, this stranglehold has been broken. Dell, one of the global giants that supplies businesses and homes with PCs, is selling some of its PCs with Linux already installed. Linux makes your computer run quicker, it doesn’t crash, it doesn’t catch anywhere near as many viruses, and it’s free.
