Okay before I say anything I looked at the following blurb over on Distrowatch and was asked to do a write up in the system here is their blurb,
Guardian Digital has announced the release of EnGarde Secure Linux 3.0.17, a server oriented distribution with an easy-to-use web-based administration utility: “Guardian Digital is happy to announce the release of EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.17. What’s new? We have included a very alpha version of Samba 4 for our users to evaluate; support for tcb, an alternative password shadowing scheme, was added; balance, a very simple and effective load balancing application, is now available for installation. Simple to set up, balance can provide round-robin TCP load balancing for just about any daemon; powernowd, a daemon to control the CPU speed and voltage of your server, is also now available; the latest stable versions of Apache (2.2.6), Asterisk (1.4.12), Dovecot (1.0.5), PHP (5.2.4)
Now for my findings I installed it a local game server, that a company here in the area provides to its customers(game resale place) Lets put it this way I was more than shocked at the ease of install and better yet the well laid out system. In under a hour I had it up and serving and locked down and secure without the normal headaches that go with hardening a system. Would I suggest it to other folks you bet in a minute. If you have been looking for a secure solution for your small business or medium give it a look and see what you think.

Today is Ten-Ten Day. Jon Schwartz again the news. Sun wants to give away its software. Steve Ballmer all over the news. Much focused on Google and Vista. Ballmer ravaged at Gartner conference by an angry Mom. Microsoft has a multipliction bug in Excel? Wikipedia moving to San Francisco. Internet2 up to 100 Gbps. [...]
Not that I love John or anything but this is a good little 5 minute show that really hits the news from a different slant. You might want to take a listen. Baldy

Spammers may have changed tactics, targeting a familiar Web site rather than PCs for the purpose of spreading the trojan. Spammers are exploiting YouTube’s “invite your friends” function to send spam containing a variant of the “Storm worm.” Bradley Anstis, director of product management at security firm Marshal,…

While you can create and save documents in the OpenDocument format using OpenOffice.org, KWord, or AbiWord, there are other ways to generate ODF files. odtwriter, for example, can help you quickly convert plain text files formatted using reStructured Text markup into ODT (OpenOffice.org Writer-compatible ODF) documents. Using odtwriter, you can generate ODF files on machines that don’t have ODF-compatible word processors installed, such as those running lightweight Linux distros, or simply compose documents in a text editor and leave the task of properly formatting them to odtwriter.
