Users of the popular Linux distribution MEPIS were getting worried about the distribution’s leader, who had been rather quiet lately.
Some Linux distributions — Red Hat, Ubuntu, and Novell, for example — have thousands of people working on them over the course of a month. Others, like MEPIS, have one developer, and users of the popular Linux desktop distribution were getting worried when Warren Woodford, MEPIS’s CEO, had been laying low for the last month.
After sitting and watching some of the comments over on Mepislovers forums this should bring to rest the health rumors of Warren. However like the article says it is a sad state of affairs when the developer of a Distro had to find work to pay the bills. Another case of if you like it donate to it folks, it is the only way that free and open source projects will survive in the future. Baldy

An anonymous reader writes “The Telegraph newspaper reports that over-50s are invading sites like Facebook and MySpace in massive numbers. A recent study showed that nearly one third of Facebook users are aged between 35 and 54, and that this group also made up 41 percent of MySpace users. “Because the mind of an over-50 is likely superior to that of a drink-addled undergrad, at first there was uncertainty about whether older users would find the Facebook-led social-networking phenomena attractive.” Looks like dad just turned up to the party.”
Lets see the over 50′s are the ones that got this silly ball of wax called the internet rolling and now they are surprised when we use it? Humm Baldy
