Three developers are in the running for the post of Debian project leader (DPL) this year, after nominations closed on March 9. The current leader, Sam Hocevar , is not among the three.
Steve McIntyre is the seniormost of the three, having joined in 1996; he contested in 2006 and 2007 as well. Raphael Hertzog, who also ran in 2002 and 2007, has been part of the project since 1998 while Marc Brockschmidt, the youngest of the three, joined Debian in 2004.

It takes years maybe decades to master the commands available to you at the Linux shell prompt. Here are 10 that you will have never heard of or used. They are in no particular order. My favorite is mkfifo.
Trust me these are some really underused but handy commands, How many of these did I know, that is easy 1 is all I had ever heard of before, Baldy

Really, REALLY well!
Ivan Krstic spends 3 weeks in Peru and takes a trip to Arahuay, where the pilot program began back in June, to find out just how things were going.
“Children’s fathers used to seethe with fury when the laptops were passed out, because the kids no longer wanted to help work in the field all day,”
“The kids solved the dilemma for me: they taught their fathers how to use the Internet and a search engine.”
The fathers, I later heard, all decided an education could stop their children from having no choice but to work the field all day as they did. With the laptops in place, the school was no longer a black box whose efficacy had to be taken on faith: the kids could prove they were learning.
A touching story. If you had doubts about the OLPC program, you need to read this.

Only a few months into a relationship with Linux-powered PCs, Wal-Mart is pulling the plug on the products. The retail giant has sold out its stock of Linux-driven and price-friendly Everex Green gPC systems, and says it won’t be restocking its shelves with replacements — although several models can be found on Walmart.com. So, why did the Linux-powered product fail at the self-proclaimed “low-price leader?” Wal-Mart doesn’t have any definitive answers.
I know I know but then I have been saying what is the problem with that concept for a couple of months now and I hate to say I told you so but hey, Baldy
